Home Made Biscuit Mix

Super easy, super cheap- and if you use this regularly, you'll save a ton too! This will last quite a while if you store in an airtight container. I store mine in the freezer in zip bags (because I have a thing against weevils) and it bakes up the puffiest biscuits ever!

Ingredients:
5 cups flour
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup vegetable shortening
2 Tbs sugar (optional- I tend to leave this out unless it's for pancakes/muffins)

DIRECTIONS
Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Cut in the shortening with a fork or pastry cutter until the mix is crumbly (think pie crust). Use as you would use regular biscuit mix (aka Bisquick). More liquid = pancakes, pot pie topping, etc. Less liquid = cut biscuits.
You can also add sugar and more shortening to make crumble topping!
